Comenius University is one of the strongest scientific and research institutions in Slovakia not only in terms of the number of creative workers, but also in terms of the ability to obtain financial support for scientific research and, finally, in terms of the results achieved. At the Comenius University, prerequisites were created for the development of modern educational and scientific centers, enabling the comprehensive training of students and the development of the most modern and socially useful directions of science and teaching.

Among the received grants, so far domestic ones prevail over foreign ones. Domestic grants, which mainly come from the VEGA agency, support the successful solution of projects in a wide range of scientific fields. From year to year, the number of solved international projects grows, primarily within the EU. The university management has introduced several incentive programs that support important scientific workplaces. These include Comenius University Grants for young researchers, support for the mobility of doctoral students, but also financial evaluation of young docents and professors.
