Department of Church History
The goal of the educational process is to learn about the history and development of the Christian Church with a specific focus on:
-general and domestic church history (spread of Christianity, reformations, relations between church and state)
-church history (development of church institutions, dogmas, teaching, education, culture, etc.)
In the research area, the emphasis is on the application of historical methods, which should be:
-critical (in the analysis and interpretation of sources and secondary information sources),
-genetic (when examining causes and consequences, i.e. internal connections between historical events and not just registering them in chronological order),
-objective (when trying to find out the true facts without subjective embellishment or glossing over negative moments and thereby distorting their essence).
